Reinstalling Made to Measure Millennium software:1. You are probably wanting to reinstall because you have a new computer – are you sure you would not rather get the upgrade to the Professional version (at R2500 - 2012) at this time? If so call us and we will send a CD with the new program. Otherwise continue to step 2. 2. You will need your original setup CD, Registration stiffy disk, and a recent backup of your data 3. If you have lost your original CD please contact us as you willneed to order the professional upgrade. It is not possible to simply copy the program off the old drive – you must install off the CD. Maybe you should rather consider 1 above if yours is lost. 4. If you have lost the original registration stiffy disk you can easily recreate it by copying the file mtm.ccd and mtm.dlx off your from your old program folder eg c:\mtm\kudu(or loerie rhino etc) onto either a new stiffy disk (see 5 below) or onto a flash memory drive. 5. If the computer which you are now installing to has no stiffy drive then you will need to register off another medium such as flash drive or CD. So do step 4 anyway either from a: or c: to the flash drive. (Also you will need to backup onto one of those 2 as well so if you don’t know how to write a cd rather invest in a flash drive). 6. Run the setup off the CD – at the end where it says "yes launch the prog file" click it on and register off your a: drive if possible. For those without an a: drive the reg program may offer you an ‘other’ option allowing you to pick up the mtm.ccd file of your flash drive or CD or c:drive. If not you may have to cancel at this stage and register later. See 7 below 7. IF you have no a: drive and you reg program does not have the "other" option you will need to get a new Reg program from our website, HERE. (Right-click the green "Download" button and select "Save target as..." or "Save link as..." and choose a destination to save). Instructions for using the utility are in step 9 below. 8. Whether or not you did step 7 you should get the latest version of the Millenium program as there were ICD10 changes at the beginning of 2006. Get it HERE. (Right-click the green "Download" button and select "Save target as..." or "Save link as..." and choose a destination to save).Instructions to apply the update are in step 9 below. 9. The files you saved in 7 and 8 are applied the same way. For each if applicable: Double click on the exe file on your desktop – continue through any zip registration messages, but when you get to the unzip window it will say "Unzip to folder: c:\mtm\yourfolder". For most people with a straightforward installation you need only change the word ‘yourfolder’ to the name of your program, eg "kudu", so that it reads "c:\mtm\kudu", before clicking unzip. If you installed your program to an different location then you can find out where it is by right-clicking on the program icon on the desktop and looking at target under Properties. The unzip folder specified must point to the folder where your mtm2000.exe file is. 10. If you still need to register as a result of 7 above then click Start button -> Programs -> Kudu (or Loerie, Rhino, etc) Registration. It will now have an "other"‘ option - choose it and pick up the mtm.ccd file. Note that it would be preferable here to have put these mtm.ccd and mtm.dlx files onto a flash drive because if you now pick them up off the CD you will have the additional problem that they are now "read-only" and will result in an error message ‘File access denied’ when you try to run the program. If this happens you need only go – in My Computer - to drive c: to the mtm folder to the program folder eg c:\mtm\loerie where you will see these 2 files. For each Right click on it, go to properties and uncheck "Read Only"‘. 11. Now your program is installed – go to Tools -> Restore and restore your data from your backup disk. If no backup in the correct format (eg Kyymmdd.zip) then you can copy all files from the old c:\mtm\kudu (or Loerie etc) \data folder to the new one. 12. You will need to do the Tools -> Printer Setup - note that Winxp has issues with dot matrix printers – see website help on this. |
