Windows XP Paper Size problems

Windows XP has a compatibility issue with all Dot-matrix printers encountered so far. This issue causes the last two digits on a line to drop down to the line below, putting the lineup out. To counter this, it is necessary to set the width of the form to wider than it actually is. This requires that a wide carriage printer be installed.

First, install one of the following printers under Windows:

Printer Make Use this Driver
All Seikosha FX1050
All Epson FX FX1050
All Epson LX LX1050
All Epson LQ LQ1050
All Panasonic FX1050

Create a form of the correct size:

  1. Click on the Start button -> Control Panel -> Printers and Faxes
  2. Click on File -> Server properties
  3. On the Forms tab click on Create a new form
  4. Give the new form a name eg MTM Statement
  5. Set Height to 8.5 inches or 21.59mm
  6. Set the Width to 24cm

In the Made to Measure Medical Accounting Software:

  1. Go to Tools -> Printer setup
  2. Select "Preprinted" under "Default Statement Paper Type"
  3. Click on Change Printer and select the printer installed above
  4. Select your Paper Size - the one you made earlier (MTM Statement)
  5. Click on OK - the fonts box will come up
  6. Click on Heading font button and choose
    font = Draft 5CPI
    style = Bold
    Size - Choose a size
    Click OK
  7. Click on Normal font button and choose
    Font = Draft 10CPI
    Style = Regular
    Size - Choose a size
    Click OK
