Medical Aid Billing for 2011

For the year 2011 - the Medical aids have decided to each declare their own percentage increase for the tariff prices. At Made to Measure we have had to make program changes to accommodate these changes. We are very pleased to announce that we have implemented a system that can accommodate the medical aid increase as well as cases where medical aids will pay eg 200% for a tariff.

Follow the 4 easy steps to get your billing ready for 2011:

  1. Get the latest program update please click here to download the latest professional update. To apply the downloaded file to your program please read the instructions.
  2. Once the update has been applied - you will need to perform a reindex & then do a check data integrity test from your tools menu.
  3. Now import the latest tariffs into your program from your Tariff Codes screen. (This feature is only available for bio, physio, diet, ot, speech, psychologists other practice types will need to add the codes manually using our many tariff code functions.)
  4. You will now need to setup the medical aid % increase as declared for the year. (view the table below for details)

Once the 4 easy steps have been done - you can now invoice your patients & the program will automatically calculate the correct rate depending on the medical aid selected. Remember if you charge a private rate & do not use the medical aid prices you can setup your own private rates in the Tariff Code Private coloum. You can then set all the medical aids to charge the private the rate using the "Set as Private" button in the Medical Aid Screen.

How to Change your medical aid details:

eg. Open your list of medical aid. Click on a medical aid eg. Profmed. Click on use.

You will now need to set the Billing rates: Set the tariff rate to Med Aid, Set the percentage eg. 106.91 (2010 + 6.91% increase) and then set the rounding factor (1c, 10c or R1). Now click on OK.

If you have many datafolders or many pracitces to manage - we have created a "patch" that will update these medical aids for you. This patch costs R250. Please contact us for details.
